We did that too; we used to record our own voices over stuff like Fred Astaire movies. It was like “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” except more fart orientated.

Fantabulous.
I’ll be giving that one a go. Me and dad used to have a similar game in which we’d find old VHS tapes (btw have you tried to explain magnetic tapes to anyone who’s only ever known DVD and CD as recording formats? Impossible. You might as well be describing wax discs to them.) and use the audio dub button whilst flicking through the channels. This is in the days of Saturday morning wrestling, and not that American rubbish neither.

Here is how you do extra-contextual teletextual.
1) Put subtitles on the telly
2) Change channels so that the subtitles from one programme are plastered over a new programme.
3) Continue until an hilarious incongruity occurs.
The featured examples are fakes.
